Dr. Carin Ramsel graduated with her degree in veterinary medicine from Kansas State University in 2003. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists where she received additional training focused on small animals. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2005 to be closer to family along the front range. She purchased Cook Veterinary Hospital in 2010, the practice where her grandparents had taken their little dogs.
Dr. Ramsel first became interested in acupuncture as an alternative method to help pets who had reached a limit with Western Medicine. During her first course in acupuncture in 2011, she was introduced to all of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), which encompasses acupuncture, herbals, massage and food therapy. Seeing additional ways to help her patients, Dr. Ramsel took several other courses in TCVM and now uses it to complement Western Medicine for many patients. Dr. Ramsel is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in TCVM and will be one of the first American veterinarians to have this distinction.
In her spare time, Dr. Ramsel enjoys gardening, hiking, handcrafts, running, travel, riding ATVs, camping and spending time with her family, 2 dogs and foster cat.
